Innovative Legal Solutions’ Founder
Innovative Legal Solutions’ founder, Katherine Day, is a lawyer with thirty-five years of practice who is licensed to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and New York. She graduated from Vassar College and Albany Law School of Union University where she was selected to be Articles Editor for the Albany Law Review. Katherine worked as a commercial law and litigation associate in law firms in New York City and Washington, DC before entering public service as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
At the Department of Justice, Katherine served in several senior-level positions including General Counsel for the Office of Federal Detention Trustee and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, representing the interests of the United States in litigation, commercial law, policy and other matters. She frequently advised the White House with regard to key law enforcement issues and served as a vetter for White House appointments including U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals. She retired from the Department of Justice in September of 2019.
Katherine is a member of the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Spooky Action Theater in Washington, D.C.
